My lovely students asked if I could share the link to my blog, so now I DEFINITELY have to get serious and create a goal that is S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely). (Shout-out to my wonderful Academic A Writing class, if you are actually reading this! Sorry – no extra credit.) Also, maybe I should start writing more academically, since my students are in Academic A Writing!
When I first started this blog, I was thinking that my goal would be to hike three miles a week. However, now that I think about it, I believe there have been times I have hiked slightly less than three miles. After some contemplating, I have come to a decision. Here is my S.M.A.R.T goal:
To walk at least 30 minutes in nature every week until August 31st.
I decided to use the term "walk," because, as I have explained in a previous post, I was not certain what one considers "hiking" and what one considers "walking," and I do not want so claim I hiked one weekend when maybe I just walked along a nice trail in nature (like I did when I was in California).
The point of this blog and this goal is for me to spend time in nature, doing some kind of physical exercise. Whether it be hiking strenuously uphill or taking a leisurely stroll – as long as I'm one with nature, that is all that really matters.
